The Women’s Imaging Division at Brown provides imaging to women presenting with a diverse set of medical needs. Located at Women and Infants’ Hospital, one of the nation’s largest premier hospitals dedicated to the care of pregnant and non-pregnant women, this division performs and interprets ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopic examinations on outpatient, inpatient, and emergency room patients. Nearly 25,000 ultrasound exams, 800 hysterosalpingograms and 300 sonohysterograms are performed annually.

These examinations provide unique in-depth exposure to obstetric imaging as well as to the imaging of pregnant women with medical complaints such as abdominal pain and shortness of breath. All ultrasound examinations are performed on state-of-the-art GE LOGIQ-E10 machines. Weekly gynecologic oncology multidisciplinary tumor boards offer superb education with active participation by our radiologists.  Many examinations involve patients treated by the reproductive endocrinology division. Subspecialized women’s imaging attending radiologists pride themselves on educating medical students and residents and have won numerous teaching awards from The Warren Alpert Medical School.

Dedicated physician’s assistants in women’s imaging also provide exceptional training in performing advanced procedures in women’s imaging. Some of the scholarly pursuits of radiologists in this division include imaging of infertility, ovarian torsion, and abdominal pain in pregnancy.
