The Division of Body Imaging and Intervention includes ultrasound, CT and MRI of the chest, abdomen and pelvis. We are a group of approximately ten, fellowship-trained, subspecialized attending radiologists dedicated to providing cutting edge care to our patients. We preform and interpret approximately 100,000 diagnostic exams per year using state of the art equipment including the latest in ultrasound technology and ultrasound contrast, nine multi-detector CT scanners including dual-energy CT, and five inpatient MRI scanners including multiple 3T.
In addition to a bustling diagnostic service, we perform an array of non-vascular, percutaneous procedures using ultrasound or CT-fluoroscopic guidance. These include biopsies and drainages of essentially any accessible site within the body.
Multiple projects are always ongoing and attendings and trainees regularly speak at national meetings both to present new research and as recognized experts in their areas of interest.
Educational opportunities abound within the Division of Body Imaging and Intervention. In addition to at the workstation case review, daily teaching rounds at 8am include review of all scheduled procedures, the hospital course of all drainage patients, and at least two interesting, recent, teaching cases. Trainees are encouraged to attend and participate in weekly gastrointestinal and gynecology-oncology tumor boards. And an informal, challenging case conference is presented by our fellows on a monthly basis.
