
Esha S. Kothekar, MD
Biography
Dr. Kothekar (pronounced Ko-taker) hails from Nagpur, India—often called the "Tiger Capital of India" due to its proximity to several renowned tiger reserves. She earned her medical degree from Government Medical College, Nagpur, where she received two research scholarships from the Indian Council of Medical Research. She later expanded her academic experience by conducting research in radiology at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kothekar completed her preliminary year in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she also served as Chief Resident. In her R4 year, she pursued Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) training.
Outside of work, Dr. Kothekar enjoys exploring diverse cuisines, making charcuterie, playing badminton, and traveling. She especially values time spent with her husband and daughter.
