Dr. Brandon Koo was born in South Korea but raised in Queens, New York. He went to a 7-year combined BS/MD program offered jointly between Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College in upstate New York. While completing his BS in Biology, he was part of the men’s varsity swimming team at RPI, as well as an active member of the RPI judo club. During his time at Albany Medical College, he was involved in basic science research involving peritoneal dissemination of ovarian cancer and was awarded the John Faunce Roach Prize in Radiology. Dr. Koo completed his preliminary internal medicine year at NYU Langone Long Island Hospital in Mineola, NY. He enjoys swimming, playing judo, hiking, skiing, and rock-climbing in his spare time.
